  • A little bit about us:

Debbie and Rich Newell are the owners of Photography by Eicher's. This year the studio is excited to be celebrating it's 25th anniversary. For the past 4 years the studio has been located in a 200 year old historic home in downtown Springboro. The house once a stop on the underground railroad is the perfect place for a studio.

A few fun facts about Debbie and Rich:

Married for 21 years they have 2 amazing daughters. Amanda is 16 and loves to cook. Emily is 13 and loves chocolate(can you blame her). They also share thier home with 2 furry family members. Chewie a sweet well behaved Akita and Boomer a 95 pound white lab. If you have read the book or have seen the movie "Marley and Me" you have a good feel for the type of dog Boomer is. Rich started road biking about 3 years ago and completed his 1st century ride(100 miles) last summer. This past fall he tried mountain biking and now there are multiple bikes in the garage. Debbie is happy just to lay in the hammock and read a good book. If the hammock was hanging between two palm trees on a beach that would be even better.

A few notable facts about Debbie and Rich:

Both Debbie and Rich have their Master of Photography degree from the Professional Photographers of America. Rich also has his Craftsman degree and is a certified Professional Photographer. Rich has been named the photographer of the year by Professional Photographers of America in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. They received the Outstanding Wedding Album award for Ohio in 2008. Between the two they have 25 blue ribbon wedding albums and images in the past 4 years. They are also the proud recipients of a Fuji Masterpiece Award. In March 2010 Rich was in the top ten photographers in Ohio. He recieved 2 Court of Honor awards and Debbie received one. Rich is a member of the board of Professional Photographers of Ohio and will be president in 2012.

Hailey Spring Valley Academy Senior

Now that’s what we call a great prop!  Hailey went for edgy look with her senior portrait session and it really worked for her.  Not only did she bring a motorcycle along but one of the best shoe collections we have seen all year!

Kaitlin and Luke

From the minute they walked through the door and past the candy table of every assortment of pink confection imaginable guests knew this was going to be fun day.  Kaitlin absolutely loves pink and she carried the beautiful pink touches all through out the wedding.  From the breathtaking flowers designed by David Fox of The Flower Shoppe www.theflowershoppe.com to the the sparkling hot pink pumps she wore.  The ceremony was held on the front lawn of her parents home and then guests made their way around to the back of the house where an elegant dinner prepared by Current Cuisine awaited them www.currentcuisine.com The party was topped off by a fireworks display over the pool.

Krista and Adam

Adam and Krista choose Receptions in Fairfeild for their wedding and reception.  www.receptionsinc.com Krista looked absolutelybreathtaking!  The bride and Groom as well as the wedding party danced down the aisle after saying I do.  Guests even had the chance to vote on the song for their first dance as man and wife.  It was a fun chance for us to catch up with their maid of honor and best man whose wedding we photographed last June.

Senior Image Wins International Award

Rich spent most of last week in Atalanta with about 40 judges from around the country judging the Professional Photographers of America International Print Competition.  More than 5000 images were entered in this years competition.  Most of his time was spent judging wedding albums and when the week was over he was pleased to learn that all 4 images he entered received merits.  Two of the images, the image of the blue buildings, taken in Italy, and the black and white senior boy image were selected as loan images.  A loan award is the highest level award given by the professional Photographers of America in international competition.  Both of these images will be published in Professional Photographers of America Loan book for 2010.  They will also be on display next January in San Antonio, Texas at the International Convention.   By receiveing 4 merited images and two loan images Rich was named Professional Photographers of America Gold level Photographer of the Year.

Lyndsey and Ryan

The rain(o.k.  3 hour down pour) stopped just in time for Lyndsey and Ryan to have the outdoor images they were hoping for.  The wedding took place at Christ United Methodist Church www.Christumc.org in Kettering.  These images were taken in Lincoln Park just outside the Fraze www.fraze.com  Lyndsey designed all the flowers with a little  help from The flowerman www.thankyouflowerman.com  Once again it was a little warm outside, but by doing all their photographs before the wedding once they arrived at Beavercreek  Golf Club www.beavercreekgolfclub.com for the reception they were able to relax, cool off and enjoy a wonderful party.
